Managing access permissions to your camera

Why is authorization necessary?

To take photos from a survey, questionnaire, promotion, or stratum change, the application needs access to your device's camera. Without this permission, the photo functionality will not work.

Give permission at the time the photo is taken:

  1. In the app, tap the icon to take a photo.
  2. A browser window will ask for permission to access the camera.
  3. Select "Allow during site visit" .

A camera operating indicator will appear ( e.g. , a small icon or banner). Press the shutter button to capture the photo. (2)

Front or rear camera — significant limitation

Tablets and some computers have a front-facing (selfie) camera and a rear-facing camera. Web apps (in the browser) can only allow one camera per site —this is a limitation imposed by browsers.
If the selected camera is not suitable for you (for example, it switched to front view after visiting another site), you must change the permission in the browser settings: follow the procedure below.

Change camera permissions

On smartphone/tablet (Mobile Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome and log in to the application.
  2. Tap the three vertical dots in the top right corner.
  1. Go to SettingsSite settings (or Site settings ).
  1. Tap Camera .
  1. Locate the application site in the list and modify the permission (Allow / Block) or select the desired camera if the option is available.
  1. Return to the application and reload the page for the change to take effect.

On a computer (Chrome desktop)

  1. Open Chrome and log in to the application.
  2. Click on the icon to the left of the URL
  1. In the menu on the left, choose Privacy and securitySite settings .
  2. Click on Camera .
  1. Select the camera device you want to use (if you have multiple cameras) and verify the permissions for the application site. You can also revoke permission to force a request for authorization the next time you access the device.
  1. Return to the application and reload the page.

Quick tips

  • If the camera remains stuck, completely close the browser and then reopen it.
  • Remember to allow the site during the visit and not never .
  • If you are using a web app from another browser, the procedure is similar (Settings → Site → Camera).
